University of Bihać is a public institution founded by the Government of Una-Sana Canton and it consists of seven organizational units or faculties. The highest managerial bodies of the Universty of Bihać are Management Board, Senate and Rector. In terms of legal framework, the work of the University is based on Law on Higher Education in Una-Sana Canton and Law on University of Bihać. Apart from these, the work of the University is also governed by Framework Law on Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These laws directly define the system and organization of higher education, but the University also applies Framework Law on Basis of Scientific Research Activity and Coordination of Intranational and International Scientific Research Cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other regulations pertaining to higher education, science and scientific research, student standard, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education istitutions.
