The Center for Gender Equality of the University of Bihać was established on October 25, 2021 by the decision of the Rector of the University of Bihać. The establishment of the Center for Gender Equality of the University of Bihać is one of the activities in the implementation of the UNIGEM Project (University and Gender Mainstreaming) in which the University of Bihać participates based on the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on October 6, 2021 between the University of Bihać and the TPO Foundation from Sarajevo.

The responsibility of the Center for Gender Equality of the University of Bihać is to conduct research among teaching staff and students on gender-based violence and sexual harassment, as well as to perform other activities provided for in the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, such as: fighting against gender-based violence; dealing with issues of discrimination and sexual harassment; improving quality assurance practices at the University of Bihać; integrating gender equality into institutional rules, procedures and practices; achieving an organizational culture in which gender equality is an integral part of all processes and on all levels in the life of the University of Bihać; participating in the creation, implementation and monitoring of measures for gender equality at the University of Bihać – in general, contributing to the visibility of gender equality in society.

The Center for Gender Equality of the University of Bihać is managed by the coordinator Dr. Jasmina Bešlagić and the Advisory Board: Dr. Albin Muslić, Dr. Amela Čolić, Dr. Nikola Findrik and Dr. Ratko Knežević.
