Content and qualifications
The study of Business is an undergraduate study program at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Bihać lasting four years, with a total number of 240 ECTS points. While nurturing critical curiosity, the goal of the program is to enable students to apply fundamental concepts of business economics in a creative way. Research spirit, critical and open outlook ready for independent logical inference and finding comprehensive solutions to challenges in the domains of entrepreneurship, management, marketing, accounting and audit, are the traits developed through this study program. At the same time, proactive research curiosity, which is imposed as a set of intellectual rules, opens the way to wider academic and business horizons. One of the goals is to train students for independent lifelong learning and continuous improvement which is in line with new developments and challenges in business. Students who have completed this study program have the option of continuing their studies in the master degree program or starting a job which requires a higher education degree in social sciences. Economics as a social science encompasses a wide range of occupations, which qualifies this program’s graduates for a number of different jobs.

Expected competencies
After completing the studies, a Bachelor of Business Economics in the field of Business possesses knowledge of contemporary scientific achievements in business economics and is able to critically evaluate facts, ideas and theoretical assumptions in a broader economic context. At the same time, students are trained to confidently face the functioning and problems of economic systems which involve the analytical application of quantitative and statistical methods in economics. By completing the program students are prepared for independent and continuous scientific and professional development because they have knowledge in the field of finance which can be practically applied in all segments of an economic system. Through a specific and dynamic study program, students adopt the practice of efficient work in a team where communication and organizational skills are developed. The acquired knowledge and practical experience enable them to independently analyze the business environment, which includes identifying business opportunities and threats, as well as the organization’s internal strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, an important segment in the education process is the ability to develop a business plan through understanding the determinants of consumer behavior in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as the ability to predict behavior when making a purchase decision. Through an intensive educational path, graduates of the study program successfully analyze consumer profiles and predict the demands and needs of the end consumer and business markets – including digital marketing strategies, understanding brand identity and strategic brand management processes.
