On Friday, November 18, at 10 am, at the Reading Room of the Faculty of Technical Engineering of the University of Bihać (Irfana Ljubijankića bb), and as part of Humanities courses by Professor Irfan Hošić at the Department of Textile Design, a guest lecture by art historian Jonathan Blackwood, PhD, will be held. Jonathan Blackwood is a lecturer at Gray's School of Art, Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. Professor Blackwood’s lecture is called Thematics in Contemporary Scottish Art since 1988, and it explores the evolution of contemporary art practice in Scotland from the end of deindustrialization period to the post-industrial or post-digital present time, and includes the UK's period from post-Brexit perspectives. Topics covered by the lecture of Professor Blackwood are national identity, ecology, class, equality, diversity. Professor Jonathan Blackwood is renowned connoisseur of modern and contemporary art in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and his book Introduction to Contemporary Art in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2015) is an excellent introduction to culture and art in the country intended for an international readership.
