Cooperation Agreement Signed Between the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Bihać and the Folke Bernadotte Academy

A Cooperation Agreement between the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Bihać and the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) was signed on 5 November 2025 at the premises of the Biotechnical Faculty, as part of the project Participatory Processes and Climate Security in Krajina. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Atif Hodžić, Rector of the University of Bihać, and Prof. Dr. Vildana Jogić, Dean of the Biotechnical Faculty, while Rhodri Williams, Senior Advisor, signed on behalf of the Folke Bernadotte Academy. The Folke Bernadotte Academy is a Swedish government agency established to promote peace, security, and the development of democratic societies worldwide. FBA supports inclusive governance processes, strengthens institutions, and promotes human rights, while providing expertise and assistance in peacebuilding, security, and climate resilience. The agreement was signed within the framework of the project, covering six municipalities in the northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, involving representatives of local authorities, the civil sector, non-governmental organizations, and the academic community. The academic partners in the project are the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Bihać and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Banja Luka. The signatories expressed their commitment to substantive and long-term cooperation. Their goal is to strengthen the capacities of local communities through joint activities conducted in collaboration with leading local, regional, EU, and Swedish experts in inclusive governance and climate change adaptation. The specific goal of the cooperation is to empower local authorities and civil society organizations to apply participatory processes in addressing the challenges posed by climate change. This agreement represents an important step in strengthening the international cooperation of the Biotechnical Faculty and contributes to the development of sustainable and inclusive approaches to climate security in the Krajina region.
