Content and qualifications
The goal of this study program is to educate and train candidates to obtain the Master Degree in the field of German Language and Literature. Since by obtaining a Bachelor Degree in the field of German Language and Literature students are qualified to work in primary and secondary schools, the main goal of the Master Degree program is to deepen the knowledge, competences and skills necessary for successful career in education. In addition to upgrading the knowledge acquired during the Bachelor Degree program of German Language and Literature, the Master Degree program ensures the vertical mobility of the candidates. The curriculum is implemented over the course of two semesters with a total of 480 contact hours, and each semester is credited with 30 ECTS points. Courses in the 1st semester are compulsory for all students, and in the 2nd semester, students choose an optional module according to their own preferences (the content of the master’s thesis is then related to the chosen module). By successfully defending the master’s thesis, the students acquires the degree of Master of Arts in the field of German Language and Literature.

Expected competencies
After completing the Master Degree program in the field of German Language and Literature, the graduates will have in-depth knowledge, competences and skills for successful career in education. For those candidates who develop an additional interest in scientific and research work during the Master Degree program, the completion of this study grants access to doctoral studies in the field of German language or German literature.
