The practice of internationalization of the University of Bihać in the last few years is one of the segments of the University's work that is recording positive changes, and is reflected primarily in the mobility of students and staff with partner universities outside Bosnia and Herzegovina; the arrival of students, researchers and teachers from foreign partner institutions; through cooperation on international development, scientific research and research and development projects. From the very beginning, the University of Bihać has strived to achieve inter-university cooperation in the country and abroad. During that period, a large number of agreements were signed with other institutions/institutes/associations/public institutions, and active cooperation was achieved.

In addition to the above agreements, the University has achieved very good cooperation with the European Commission, the Erasmus+ Office in BiH and with the embassies of foreign countries represented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation with the US Embassy and their Office for Public Affairs through participation in several programs, such as the English Language Fellow Program, exchange programs, US government-funded professional development programs, and participation in projects, etc.

Through numerous activities, very significant progress has been made in promoting internationalization at the University of Bihać, which has led to raising awareness of its importance among staff and students. The result of such practice is the adoption of the strategic document the Strategy for Internationalization of the University of Bihać for the period 2018-2023, as well as the Framework Guide for the Internationalization of the University of Bihać for the period 2019-2023.
